Monster Cable HDMI 1000HD Ultra-High Speed MC 1000HD-4M Would this HDMI cable work for my xbox elite system?
I Need to now if this hdmi cable would work for my xbox elite nd please i need a simple yes or no by well informed person nd why or why not?
Yes, ANY HDMI cable will work. An HDMI cable is an HDMI cable, because the HDMI signal is digital. It sends 1's and 0's to make up data, and they either make it there fine, or not at all. It isn't like an analog video cable where the signal can degrade. There are HDMI 1.0 and 1.3 cables, though the Xbox360 only supports HDMI 1.0, so using a 1.3 cable wouldn't make a difference, it will only send 1.0 over it. If a cable is marked as 1.3 even, it is just as good as other 1.3s. Buying an HDMI cable for more than $10 is a waste ($5 if buying online). Generic really cheap ones result in the EXACT same pixels and sound as super expensive ones. That is the beauty of digital things that send data instead of analog signals. If any signal is being lost at all, you will get no picture, not a lesser one. A tv or audio receiver can't make sense of the data if it isn't all getting there, since it is numbers (either power goes through the pin for a 1, or not for a 0, no in-between weakness).
(The ends must be right, there is HDMI mini which some camcorders etc. use, and a newer version of HDMI to support 3D and some other things is coming in the future and may be shaped different, but if the plug is shaped right, and it works, you're good.) Monster stuff, even for analog, is generally a ripoff. It does help to have thicker, better shielded connections for analog, but you can get other brands that are a lot cheaper and just as high grade as Monster. A Monster HDMI is absolutely pointless. They just make you pay for the name. However, if you already have the cable lying around or are getting it for free, no reason not to use it.
