HDMI to connect my computer to my monitor, but how do I get sound come out of a headset instead of the monitor?
I built my computer last Feb and I have my computer hooked to my monitor (a 22" insignia 1080p) through HDMI. I want to get a headset to play video games with but when I plug in my old headset or headphones the volume continues to come out of the monitor. How can I set it up to come out of my headset. Thanks!

yes find play back devices
generally an icon in system tray ,,,right click and select
you will see a window with audio devices
one of which will have a white tick in a green circle
this is the default sound device
plug headphones in and the headphones will appear
select them and make them the default .
when you pull the headphones out the sound will revert to the original device
BUT next time you plug your headphones in the sound will come through them
and mute the monitor speakers
