Computer to TV cable. Will it work?
I have my computer in my room and i want to add this cable :
http://cgi.ebay.com/15M-50ft-HDMI-to-DVI-I-24-5-Cable-Gold-HD-1080p-24awg_W0QQitemZ370138818892QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item562dfe294c
From my computer to the 42 inch plasma hitachi television (i dont have a vga output on the tv). I just want the picture, not the sound so will it work 100%? and full screen?
If it works, what is the max resolution (best) for the 42 inch tv? (my monitor in my room is 1280-1024) .
hops it will work out, tks
If it's a Cat 2 high-speed HDMI cable, it should work, but you will have some signal attenuation (loss) that may cause some problems. You may need to get a signal repeater or amplifier/booster for such a long cable run.
If it's a Cat 1 standard HDMI cable, it probably won't work without a repeater or booster/amplifier due to excessive signal attenuation.
At the listed price of $24.00, I seriously doubt (practically certain) that it is NOT a Cat 2 cable. A 15M Cat 2 cable would normally cost at least 3 times that much.
Caveat emptor (let the buyer beware).
