Will a vga to hdmi converter show a better picture?
Hi All,
I bought a 40" Sony LCD TV and I have hooked up my old Laptop to the TV using the VGA port (lucky that the new TV also has a vga). The picture quality is good but not truly HD. When I watch HD movies on internet, it shows the best on my laptop screen but when I watch the same on my HDTV, I don’t get to feel the HD quality. Also while using the AV from my DVD player, I dont get the HD picture quality on HDTV though the DVDs are original & HQ.
So I am looking to buy a $35 VGA to HDMI convertor from ebay and would like to know if it is really worth it. Meaning Will a vga to hdmi converter show a better picture???

Your problem is NOT the cable, but the content itself.
Internet video has rather low resolution, so, it might look OK on a PC, but on a big TV it will look terrible.
The converter can't make the output better that the input source. Save your money.
