got a new blu ray and hdmi cable. need help!?
I bought a blu ray and an hdmi cable and connected it to my hd tv but it still doesnt look as spectacular as it should! how can i make it have the full blu ray affect?
it says on the blu ray " full hd, 1080 bp" and how do i calibrate my tv? its an lg.
First of all, if your tv is not 1080p capable, your not going to see the whole benefit of bluray and hdmi. Secondly, there are a lot of blu-ray discs that are just adapted from the original dvd or even vhs release. These will never look as good as those designed for blu-ray originally. Lastly, many times older movies that had 'amazing' special effects for their day are shown in their 'true colors' on blu-ray where the imperfections are easily visible, apparently the original terminator looks horrible at 1080p.
Find out what your tv's native resolution is (owner's manual is a good place to look) and set your blu-ray to force that. Anything other than the tv's native is not going to help. If you're tv's only 720p or 1080i, you may want a new tv - I do!
