sony blue ray player and hdmi help please?
i have a lg plazma tv hdmi ready and i just brought a sony blu ray player i also have a hdmi monster cable now i have the hdmi cable in the hdmi slot on the tv and also in the player but for some reason the tv picksthe hdmi cable is there because it highlighted in the input but when i go to select the option on the player it won't reconise it has the cable in the slot does anyone have any ideas!!!
is it something to do with the settings?
Well first of all, the Monster Cable you bought is overkill! How much did you pay $80...$100! You don't need a cable like that! I would take it back and get a $20-30 cable...it'll deliver the same picture as the Monster! The Monster brand is way over priced and marked up!!!
As for your Blu-ray, it should be recognizing the HDMI unless you also have another video cable hooked up to it(componant?). Also, make sure your TV is HDCP(High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) capable!
There should be a video setting in the Blu-ray under HDMI, make sure it's not turned off! Other than that, it's possible that the HDMI output is broke and you'll have to take it back.
