Will a PS3 work with an HDMI to Component Video In converter cable?
I just got an HDMI to Component Video In cable and I wanted to hook it up to my Playstation 3 (my TV doesn't have HDMI in). I plugged the HDMI into my PS3 and the CVi into my TV. I got audio just fine out of the TV but no video. I tried going through different channels on the TV that correspond to those inputs but still nothing. I played with some settings on the PS3's Display Options menu but nothing worked. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?
Outside of scam cables, there is no such a thing as an HDMI to component video cable and I don't see why you bought one when the PS3 has its own component video out!!
Simply connect the PS3 directly to the TV via either component or composite. NO converters required.
If your TV has a DVI input, HDMI to DVI cables do work.
