How do I hook up my audio cables when using an HDMI? Should it go from DVR to amp or from TV to amp?
I know that HDMI carries video and audio in digi format. If I run audio cables from my tv to amp in conjunction with the HDMI cable am I losing the digital quality in a D/A conversion inside the television? Should I run cables straight from the DVR to the amp?
You are correct in that once the signal is converted to analog, it can never get the digital qualty back. Most DVRs also give you a single digital coaxial output. Run this into the surround receiver or amp.
