How do I connect a HD TV, HD cable box, DVD recorder w/HDMI uplink & a VCR?
I just purchased a new DVD recorder with the HD up-link. After MANY hours I have it hooked up to a TV, VCR, and Cable Box. There is one problem left. Audio and video need to go out from the cable box (Comcast HD box) and to both the TV and the DVD player. I have video going out with RGB cords to the TV and regular video out to the DVD player. The problem is audio.
There is only one audio out spot on the cable box. Right now I have that out going to the DVD player, so the TV has no audio unless the DVD player is on. The problem with this is that the DVD player does not show TV in HD quality.... DEFEATING THE ENTIRE PURPOSE.
I've tried using a digital coaxil, but that won't work because it is an audio out spot on both the DVD player and the Cable Box.
HELP!
Get two "Y" adapter cables. One each to split the left and right audio. You can get these at any Radio Shack.
