Can I use a HDMI to DVI adapter to add a third monitor?
Anyone know hot to set up three DVI monitors together? My card has 2 DVI's but it also has 1 HDMI. If I get an adapter will the thing run on 3 monitors?
Any video cards you can recommend? I have an ATI 4780 right now but I'm shopping for a new one for this setup.

No. You CANNOT drive three monitors with an HD4870. Its GPU is designed to support TWO monitors only.
Using the HDMI port on your HD4870 will disable one of the DVI ports.
The only mainstream video cards with triple-monitor support right now are the DisplayPort-equipped versions of the ATI Radeon HD5000-series, and the third monitor MUST be connected to the card's DisplayPort jack for triple-monitors to work.
