I have a few questions about HDMI and DVI.?
First off, which one is better HDMI or DVI?
Secondly, if HDMI is better, than if I get an adapter that switches DVI to HDMI, will I get full high definition video quality?
By the way, the adapter that I am talking about is at Best Buy, here is the link. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7129403&st=dvi+hdmi&type=product&id=1110262781843
HDMI and DVI are exactly the same quality in terms of video. They are both digital video, so its all 0's and 1's. There's no quality loss by either method. There's no quality gained by either method (over the other method that is). The only advantage of HDMI is that it can carry both video and audio over the same cable. With DVI you have to carry audio over a separate cable. But there are digital audio options, so a DVI cable and digital audio cable combination can delivery HDMI quality results.
However, all that being said, a lot of HDTVs will only support all HD formats over HDMI. Specifically the 1080p24 format. This means 24 frames per second playback (like films in theaters). This can make a difference for BluRay playback only. Broadcast TV doesn't employ such a frame rate so it makes 0 difference for that purpose. But if you're going to be watching BD's at 24fps, then HDMI is possibly a better route (though your TV has support it as well).
