Just bought a LCD tv but the quality is crappy, is it worth buying a HDMI cord?
Just bought a RCA LCD 40inch 1080p HDTV. i hooked it up to my Verizon cable components and the HD channels look great but the Digital channels look really low quality. If i go buy a HDMI to HDMI cord instead of using a YPbPr cord will there be a noticeable quality difference?

Yes it is worth it. First there will be less cable clutter. Second as the cable is impedance matched there will be less induced signal loss. Third, the component cables you are using are not impedance matched so there is substantial signal degradation induced by their use. They never were a proper setup, just a compromise for consumer equipment. In professional systems using component level signals the cables are about two to three times as thick, use BNC connectors, not RCA, and are extremely expensive.
However you will not get the quality of the HD channels without an HD signal. Verison is noted for poor signals to begin with, as are most of the "non cable" video entertainment media suppliers that have hit the market in the last year... teleco lines simply do not have the bandwith to carry the signal quality that dedicated cable television lines can.
This is a well known and documented fact that the government and the teleco corporations neglect to inform consumers about. If you want quality video, you need to stick with the real experts in the business... The bottom line is cut rate prices supply you with a cut rate product
