Why can't I get a full screen picture in 16:9 mode on my Samsung HP-T4254 with HDMI connected to a Comcast box
Why can't I get a full screen picture in 16:9 mode (or Just Scan mode) on my Samsung HP-T4254 with an HDMI cable connected to my Comcast cable box? I don't want to always use use Wide Fit mode when using an HDMI cable, while watching cable television--since I always have to adjust to see marquees at the top or bottom of the screen.
AVOID pillar boxes on your TV set, if it's plasma....it can burn those images into the screen....same with LCD or LCOS projectors....
Set your Cable box to 16:9 or Wide or Full...whichever one it states in the Cable box's menu....
They also have the same setting for LOW Def signals too....
Do both.
Then you should set the TV set to Wide or Full....
And unfortunately SOME TV stations like to ADD their shows to a Box or Frame....
They should not be allowed to do that....but they can.
