Why does my HD 1080p Electronics Not Work?
I have a Xbox 360 hooked up in HDMI 1080p that I am splitting with a Gefen 1:2 HDMI Splitter. One cable goes directly to my TV while the other goes into a HDMI to YPbPr converter the YPbPr cable then goes into a Haupaggue HD PVR which connects to my computer via USB for recording. The Xbox shows up on the monitor perfect and I have tested the converter with a blu ray player, the PVR works when xbox is directly plugged in and the HDMI splitter I am almost positive works great. I reinstalled the software/divers for the PVR I still cannot get a signal to the computer for recording. When I first hooked this all up it worked for 10 second then went black screen.I am so confused!

Anytime an HDMI input device shows a blank screen, I first suspect an HDCP problem.
However the Xbox output is supposedly not copy-protected.
I would first try taking the splitter out of the picture, connecting the Xbox output straight to the HD PVR... uh, and you tried that already. So the HDMI-component converter works ok as does the HD PVR. And of course the Xbox.
I would test the splitter by - first, try interchanging its two outputs. Second, borrow another monitor with HDMI in (or DVI in, with an adapter) and see if that works.
If the splitter checks out when used that way, then you are looking at an incompatibility problem. I'd first look at the HDMI-component converter. I honestly don't think $35 is enough money to buy a good one.
You could always run the component output from the Xbox straight into the HD-PVR, and then connect the monitor to the HD-PVR's component passthrough outputs.
