Requirements to play HD media through HDMI port on laptop?
I am purchasing a laptop. I would like to be able to play downloaded HD movies through an HDMI port on the laptop with my TV. Other than having an HDMI port, is there a graphics or processor requirement that i need to meet to accomplish this? I am considering an HP laptop with an AMD phenom dual core processor, and a Radeon(TM) HD 5470 graphics card.

Looking at a specs page for the HD 5470 graphics card, it looks like using an HDMI connection you can display a resolution up to 1920 x 1200 to a TV or monitor. This is sufficient for displaying true 1080p (HD) video. The only other thing to consider is the CPU but yours is fast enough to handle it.
