Blue Ray makes tv fuzzy?
i just bought a new tv, sony bravia 1080p 120 hz etc. Works great but when I turn on the blue ray (also sony) without even putting a movie in little white fuzzy specs start fuzzin around. I bought an mediabridge hdmi version 1.3b category 2 cable. off amazon it had perfect reviews. Is it the cable or blue ray player defective or does it need to be calibrated or just suck?
Tough to say.
Since the TV sounds like it works fine alone, it is most likely the cable or, less likely, the BD player. You need to investigate.
Speckling or random noise is a possible symptom of an HDMI cable close to failure. First thing is to unplug and reinsert the HDMI cable to be sure it's properly connected. If that doesn't work borrow another cable from someone and try it. If it solves the problem, it was the cable, and if not it may be the BD player. To be sure connect the player to another HDTV and see if the problem reproduces. If so, you have a warranty complaint. If neither is obviously at fault consider the TV and connect some other source to see if you get "specs fuzzin around".
Hope that helps.
