IR Blaster question?
If I plug the mini plug of an IR blaster into the back of my DVR cable box, will the cable box act as an IR receiver and transmit the signal to the IR Blaster on to another device?
I know this is kind of backward of how the ir blasters are used.
Just for information what I want to do is hide an hdmi switch behind my TV and us an IR blaster to change the hdmi switch. I just want to know if I also have to buy an IR receiver or if I can use my STB as the receiver.
you will need an ir receiver because the mini plug behind the cable box is an ir input, is there so you don't have to stick an ir emitter in front of the cable box.
