Should I have an HDMI cable for my 1080P TV to get the best picture?
I just got a new Samsung 1080P TV. I bought an HDMI cable because my electronics-buff friends told me that is the way to go. Comcast came by and hooked me up with a cable box that does not have an HDMI connector. I wasn't home at the time so I'm not sure why I got the box without HDMI. Should I call Comcast and get a box with HDMI? I don't want to lose the benefit of the nice set I just bought.
Thanks--
Well, HDMI cable is the only way to get true 1080p (well, besides DVI, and possibly VGA, and maybe a couple other obscure ways).
BUT currently, there are no cable channels in 1080p. The HD cable channels are in 720p or 1080i, both resolutions which can be carried by component (YCbCr) cables equally well.
