How do I prevent the HDTV from stretching my MacBook image?
I am connecting my macbook (the white one) to a widescreen HDTV using a mini DVI to video adaptor and it stretches the computer image, so that movies are deformed (I see "short fat people"). Is there any way I can make the image normal on the tv?
Also, my MacBook is only working in a less definition setting, and its display is no longer widescreen... Is there any way to revert that as well?

You are using the worst adapter for connecting your Macbook to an HDTV. The composite analog AV adapter is only capable of low definition and gives a really crappy image. That is the limitations of a composite signal, so there is absolutely nothing you can do to improve it.
You should be using a miniDVI-to-DVI adapter with a DVI-to-HDMI cable instead. It is a digital video signal.
That's how my Mac is connected to my HDTV, and it looks fabulous at 1080p High Definition (1920x1080 resolution), no image stretching at all, and the text is razor sharp. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f347/armchairaviator/computer/IMG_0880c.jpg
